Who we are

Footprints Foundation (the “Foundation”) operates the Walk Her Story pledge page at walkherstory.co.za. This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

Why we collect it

We use your information solely to follow up about your pledge, to coordinate your participation in Walk Her Story programmes, and to understand what kind of support our community is offering so that we can plan the 2026 national rollout. Your pledge is a statement of intent and is not a legally binding or financial commitment.

Who sees it

Your information is accessible to authorised Footprints Foundation team members who coordinate follow-up. It is stored in a secure database (Supabase, hosted in the EU/US with encryption at rest and in transit). Pledge notifications are emailed to our team via Resend. We do not sell, share, or publish your information to any third party.

Your rights under POPIA

To exercise any of these rights, email pledges@walkherstory.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually 7 working days.

Retention

We retain pledge information for the duration of the Walk Her Story campaign and for a reasonable period after, so we can report on impact and close out fulfilled pledges. If you ask us to delete your record before that, we will.

Questions

Email pledges@walkherstory.co.za. Information Officer details will be added here once formally appointed.
